Last week, we posted a video that shows how to register your site with Google Webmaster Tools. Since Google’s not the only search engine in town, it’s important to monitor your site’s performance on more than just one search engine. An easy (and free) way to get a second search engine’s perspective on your site is Bing Webmaster Tools.

Hello and welcome to Gnome Tips! Today we will show you how to register your site with Bing Webmaster Tools.
First, sign into the Bing Webmaster Tools dashboard using your Windows LiveID. Then, click on the “Add Site” button. Next, type in your site’s URL in the box that pops up, and click the “Submit” button.
Now, you need to verify ownership of your site. Bing provides three options for accomplishing this, and the first option is typically the easiest. Simply upload the Bing-provided verification file to your Web server’s root directory.
Once you’ve uploaded this file, click the “Verify” button. If there aren’t any issues, you should see a screen similar to this, and your site is successfully registered.
