A few weeks ago, we looked at how to generate a Sitemap, and we discussed its importance as a road map for your site’s content. In today’s post, we’ll take that discussion a step further and show you how to notify Google about your Sitemap.

Hello and welcome to Gnome Tips! Today we will show you how to submit a Sitemap to Google.
First, use your Google account to log into the Google Webmaster Tools dashboard. Then, select the site that has the Sitemap you want to submit.
Next, click on the “Site configuration” menu, and select the “Sitemaps” option.
Now, click the “Submit a Sitemap” button, and type your Sitemap’s filename in the box that pops up. Once you’re done, click the “Submit Sitemap” button.
If all goes well, you will see a page similar to this one, and your Sitemap has been successfully submitted to Google.
